Canon Thomas Dakin born in Lancaster, 1926. Studied at Upholland and the Ven. English College, Rome. Ordained 1951. Further studies until 1953.

Curate in Preston at St Joseph's (1953-55) and at St. Walburge's (1955-64). Taught at Underley Hall, Kirkby Lonsdale, 1964-68. Appointed as assistant at Sacred Heart, Thornton 1968. Parish Priest from 1970. Also Parish Priest of .St. Nicholas Owen from 1993.... Retired from Sacred Heart, 2002

Rev. Dominic Hyland, (Deacon) born in Bootle,1935.

Studied at St. Mary's College, Crosby until 1949. Joined the Christian Brothers that year remaining in the Order until 1960. Studied at the Universities of Cambridge, Manchester and Lancaster.

Teaching career at every level from Primary to University. Married to Nannette and has four children and six grandchildren. Ordained as Permanent Deacon in July 1993.
